Amy Simpson Bendigo Naturopath

Hi, I’m Amy, a degree-qualified naturopath in Bendigo, dedicated to providing holistic health for women and families.

Whether you’re navigating motherhood, tackling menstrual concerns, or seeking support through perimenopause, menopause, PMDD, pregnancy, blood pressure and cholesterol, motherhood, nutrient deficiencies, or insomnia, I’m here to guide you with evidence-based care tailored to your needs.

Using a blend of naturopathy, nutrition, herbal remedies, and the latest in women’s health science, I help uncover the root causes of health challenges like low energy, hormonal imbalances, or digestive issues. My goal is to make it easy for you to feel vibrant, empowered, and supported—whether it’s just you or your whole family needing care.

If you’re a parent, I have a special interest in paediatric naturopathy, focusing on gut health, immunity, and emotional resilience during the critical early years, starting with preconception and extending through childhood.

My personalised care extends to collaboration with other healthcare providers to ensure a well-rounded, seamless approach to your family’s health.

As a mum of three, I understand how overwhelming it can be to juggle modern life and parenthood. Before becoming a naturopath, I spent 17 years in office roles, including working in human rights advocacy. My own experiences with burnout and family life led me to this path, and I’m passionate about helping other women find balance and thrive.

Hello, welcome.

Naturopathic Qualifications

With a Bachelor of Health Science, ongoing Master’s studies, and membership in the Naturopaths and Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA), I combine science with compassion to deliver high-quality care for women and children. If you’re searching for a naturopath in Bendigo with a special interest in women’s and children’s health, or need help with preconception care, hormones, pregnancy health, or motherhood support, I’d love to hear from you. Together, we can create a plan to help you, and your family thrive.

My approach to Women's Health, Children's Health,
and General Wellness

I take the time to understand the root cause of your health concerns so we can work towards lasting solutions alongside symptom relief. My approach is personalised and designed to suit you and your family’s unique needs. I begin by helping you rebuild the foundations — the core pillars of health like sleep, nutrition, stress, movement, and environment — before layering in targeted treatments. Together, we’ll uncover what’s going on in your body and why, then implement evidence-based, family-friendly treatment options to help you truly thrive.

Speaking & Events

I was honoured to recently speak at the Naturopaths & Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA) symposium, sharing insights from my clinical work and ongoing research. My presentation explored the brain changes of matrescence and perimenopause. My talk drew on research and the clinical experience of my patients. It was a privilege to present to naturopaths who are passionate about advancing our profession and supporting whole-person care. You can learn more about my approach to maternal health here:

BIRTHING THE MOTHER

My first son's pregnancy was a beautiful conscious conception. I sincerely thought I was prepared for birth and motherhood. But, after a complicated labour on the eve of the very first lockdown (March 2020), I had a very low sleep-needs baby who couldn’t latch, and an extremely isolated post-partum laced with physical and emotional birth trauma. I realised that we need to rekindle a community-wide understanding of life after pregnancy and the fourth trimester. Mothers are being let down. And, I understand now, that when a mother is let down, so are her children.

My experience propelled me to question our current treatment of the mother-infant dyad and to deeply acknowledge our journey from maiden to mother as a rite of passage. I believe that strong and resilient mothers are the backbone of strong and resilient families and communities.

In late-2021 we were surprised with a fraternal twin pregnancy. Despite being high risk, and having two babies, the difference in my pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and recovery were profound. It is now my heart-felt privilege to champion other women to optimise their journey through matrescence, heal in their fourth trimester, and thrive in motherhood.
